Overview
The purpose of thus blog is to discuss the information systems of Bed Bath & Beyond. Along the way we will tell you about the companies history, value chain, and a model of their five forces. We will also highlight the stores information system, analyze them, then provide recommendations that if implemented should improve the information systems mentioned.

History
Bed Bath & Beyond was founded in 1971 by Warren Eisenberg and Leonard Feinstein. They opened their first store in Springfield, New Jersey using the name Bed 'n Bath.  Fourteen years later they opened their first superstore along with seventeen other store. They then changed their companies name to Bed Bath & Beyond to represent the increase in the size of the company.

Current
Bed Bath & Beyond is a home furnishing store that sells furniture and goods for mainly the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen. They currently have 1,530 store locations across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and Mexico employing around 68,000 people. Of those stores 1,020 are Bed Bath & Beyonds with the rest being other stores belonging to Bed Bath & Beyond Inc.


Goals
Bed Bath & Beyond strives to be customer's first choice when it comes to products and services provided in their market segment. They plan to achieve their goal by providing superb customer service, everyday low prices, a substantial variety, providing new products, and expanding its infrastructure.
